Design is often described as a rigorous form of art  and Music as an art form whose medium is sound. So what happens if those two are combined? An artist and a designer worked out on this idea and it seems they managed to transform music into a design object.  The “Accordion Cabinet” is the result of the collaboration between Sebastian Neeb and Elisa Strozyk.

The cabinet consists of a wooden structure with a shelf on the top based on long legs. The flexibility of the cabinet is possible thanks to a skin made of veneer wood and textile which can be easily opened and closed a movement similar to the accordion.  Just like the musical instrument the cabinet changes form; its volume and appearance depends on the way you use it. Opened  the upper body gets slimer whilst closed it comes back to its original voluminous shape. Being able to transform as if it had its own character this piece of furniture manages to adapt to any needs creating this way a special relationship with its owner.
